High Spirits Flute Double Hawk

The High Spirits Flute Two Hawks Drone Flute is in the key of “A” minor and is handcrafted in the mountains of southern Arizona from domestic Spanish Cedar wood.

Spanish Cedar is a softwood that gives woodwind instruments a melodic, resonant, and tonally warm voice.

It also features decorative black Onyx stone inlay cabochons.

Some of our ‘A-Frame’ double flutes offer the option of adding drone-side fingering holes, allowing the player to change the note played by the drone.

Each flute is approximately 19 inches (48 cm) in length.

With the double flutes, you play the melody on one side, and the other side provides the drone in the root note of the flute, and it magically sounds like two people are playing at the same time!

The double flutes are played the same way as our single flutes; they require more breath/air pressure.

And with all the High Spirits Flut flutes, the larger the diameter of the flute, the more breath they need.  The Two Hawks double flute is the smallest of the mid-tone double flutes, making it the most accessible while not being a high-tone octave.

The Two Hawks ‘A’ Spanish Cedar Flute features black leather ties that secure the flute’s ebonised Walnut wood fetish to the body of the flute, and a leather hole cover.
